How much does it cost to call a YAC Number from within the UK?
From fixed-line home and business phones People calling a YAC Number from a standard BT home or business phone are charged at the BT rate of 37.5 pence per minute (ppm) at peak times, 25 ppm evenings and 12.5 ppm weekends.* This is the standard 'K' telecoms rate set by BT for personal numbering services.

Where the callers use an alternative operator to make the call to a YAC Number the call will be charged at that operator's rate for calls to personal numbering services.

* Per second billing applies to calls to a YAC Number where it is supported by the operator used to make the call.

From mobile phones
The cost of calling a YAC Number from a mobile phone varies depending on the mobile operator the call is being made through. Callers are encouraged to confirm with their mobile operator the charge for calling a YAC Number (YAC Numbers are those with the prefix 07092). Mobile operators are obliged to make their call charges readily available to their customers.

Since YAC is not a customer of the mobile operators we are regrettably unable to provide our customers with this information and callers should refer to their mobile operator's customer helplines for more information.

How much does it cost to call a YAC Number from a country other than the UK?
This cost of calling a YAC Number from abroad is set by the international operator that delivers the call to the UK. Typically, each country has a number of international operators each charging a different rate for the service they offer. The costs, therefore, vary with different operators. To determine the exact charges the caller will need to contact the international operator they intend to use to call your YAC Number.

How much does it cost to call a YAC Number from an overseas mobile?
Calling a YAC Number from an overseas mobile is the same as making a call to an ordinary phone number in the UK. The call is treated as an international call. The cost depends on the international rates of the telecommunication operator through which the call is being made (see above).

Can international roaming charges be avoided using YAC?
Yes, it is possible to avoid international roaming charges by using a YAC Number. This can be achieved by forwarding your calls to a fixed line phone in the country you are visiting (e.g., in the local office of your company, in your hotel room, in a friend's house, etc.).

Alternatively, you can forward your YAC Number to a mobile phone in the country or countries you are visiting (e.g., a friend's mobile or a business mobile from a loan pool).

However, roaming charges will be incurred in the normal way if a YAC Number is forwarded to a UK mobile while that mobile is outside the UK.

If you travel abroad, YAC recommends that you redirect your YAC Number to a fixed line number in the country you are visiting. It will cost you nothing to receive such calls.
