At YAC, we are absolutely committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This page is intended to set out YAC's privacy policy, telling you exactly what information we collect from our users, what we use it for, how it is stored, and how secure it is. Information Gathered During Registration Your Email Address and YAC Call Screening/Message Distribution/Tell A Colleague Information Security of Your Personal Information Privacy of Your Communications Our Use of Cookies User Questions and Comments INFORMATION GATHERED DURING REGISTRATION When you register with us to receive a YAC Number, you are asked to supply us with your full name, email address, country of residence, date of birth, gender, and how you found our site. You must supply this information to register with YAC Ltd. We use this information for two distinct purposes: To create a unique YAC Account for you - which you will access in order to set up and control your YAC Number. To help us build a profile of our customers. We are committed to providing the best service possible to the greatest number of people, and collating demographic information is an important aspect of this endeavour. Please note that we compile your demographic information in aggregate form. The aim is not to identify individual users, but to gain a perspective on the demographic composition of our customer base. You may change your personal details at anytime by logging into your YAC Account, clicking on "Change Personal Details", and choosing "Change Profile" from the list of options that is presented to you. We do not sell, rent or otherwise distribute any of the above customer data to third parties. YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND YAC How We Gather Your Email Address During registration, we ask you to supply us with a valid email address. Currently, it is not possible to use a YAC Number without a valid email address. Once you have registered, you may change this email address at any time by logging into your YAC Account, clicking on "Change Personal Details", and choosing "Change Email Address" from the list of options that is presented to you. How We Use Your Email Address Firstly, we forward all your YAC Voice Messages and Faxes to your specified email address. We will also send you a copy of our regular newsletter, the YAC Bulletin. We will occasionally contact you at this address concerning the maintenance of your YAC Account: to confirm that your account has been set up correctly, to inform you of important changes to the functionality of our services, and to inform you that your account has not been used for a period of eight weeks or more. During registration, we also offer you the option of receiving occasional emails from us informing you about new YAC services, products, and offers that may be of interest to you and/or products, services, and special offers from third parties that we believe may also be of interest to you. We do not - at any time or in anyway - make the personal details supplied by you available to third parties. Setting Your Email Options Every registrant is given the option of declining to receive such emails when they sign up with YAC Ltd. If you choose not to opt-out during registration, you can opt-out at any time using our Email Options Page. You can change your email options as often as you like. Please note that it is our policy to never send messages to our users unless they have specifically agreed to receive them. If you at any time receive such an email without having given your consent, you can email privacy@yac.com to immediately rectify the situation. CALL SCREENING/MESSAGE DISTRIBUTION/TELL A COLLEAGUE INFORMATION We store the numbers and/or email addresses of the colleagues, clients, friends, etc., that you enter on the Call Screening, Message Distribution and/or Tell a Colleague pages of your YAC Account. We do not use this information for marketing purposes, nor do we sell or disclose it to third parties. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION A 6-12 alphanumeric Password and a 4-8 digit Personal Identification Number (PIN Number) - chosen by you - control access to your YAC Account and the personal information it contains. No one can gain access your YAC Account via our website without your YAC Number and Password, or via a telephone without your YAC Number and PIN Number. Your personal information is stored on servers protected by robust firewall and encryption protocols. YOUR ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS We do not monitor or disclose any communications our users send or receive via their YAC Number, except as and when required by law or due legal process. However, no one can completely guarantee the privacy of any transmission of data over mobile networks or the Internet. Therefore, while we do our utmost to protect your personal communications, we cannot guarantee that any data you transmit to us via mobile networks or the Internet will be 100% secure. OUR USE OF COOKIES We use cookies to keep track of your user sessions only. That is, when you login to your YAC Account we store a cookie on your machine from the time you login to the time you logout; this is to keep track of the changes you make to your YAC Settings. We do not store cookies on your machine after you log out. If you do not allow per-session cookies, your ability to access your YAC Account may be compromised. If you do allow per-session cookies, we will store a cookie on your machine for the duration of your session only.
